Harmonized Tariff Schedule Classification of
Organic Molecules

Harmonized Tariff Schedule classification is a necessary, but sometimes vexing, process for importation of organic molecules (Chapter 29)  into the US. In most companies this function is performed by chemists and/or customs experts and usually by hand.

I've created a commercially available application Automated HTSC that performs this function using two fundamental and sequential operations:

1.Profiling and 2.Prioritization

1. Profiling a compound for all HTS-relevant chemical functionalities.




2. Assigning HTS classifications based on the priorities of the those functionalities.
